Hello there. As a new player, I would recommend that you first find an active alliance that actually participates in Alliance Missions. Do not be afraid to trade up once you have your bearings if the one you are in seems stagnant or not active enough. With an active alliance you will earn frequent rewards just for doing everything else and Alliance Missions themselves will yield rewards as well.

With an active alliance joined, focus on your top favorite 2* bots. These in turn will help you clear the earliest and easiest story and spotlight missions which in turn will help you earn 3* and the materials needed to rank them.

Once you have three 3* bots, focus on raising them over the 2*. A solid squad of 3* bots maxed will carry you for a long time as you work towards your first 4* or two.

Always try to acquire the daily item in the raid store. These include energon(premium currency), signature upgrades for 3* bots(stockpile if needed, they will be useful later), gold crystals, Premium Bot Crystals(pbc for short) and various other items. Do not pull your hair out if you can't manage to buy everything daily. It will get easier as time progresses and your roster of bots grows and gets stronger.

Arena is a mixed bag atm. As a new player you will always score low. However, even with minimal investment you will still earn a little that will help you along the way.

Try to get your dailies done. Early on, the sparks acquired from dailies will help you greatly.

Ignore forging. Forging is more of an endgame way of further upgrading bots.

Get the Line app for your phone. There is a solid community there and the 411 bot is an indispensable tool with great information for new players to explore.

Try to stay on top of away missions as you can. The rewards, while small individually, add up over time and can earn you gold, ore and arena chips which in turn earn energon and gold.

One of the beautiful things about Forged to Fight is that no bot is truly better than others. Everyone has their preferences and these all vary from person to person. Find the bots with play styles that work for you and ALWAYS read up on a bots abilities. They can vary wildly from bot to bot.

    Example of some scouts being:

    Sideswipe is a crit machine
    Windblade is a heavy bleeder
Barricade debuffs enemies so they hurt themselves when using specials
    Prowl has amazing power control

Find what suits you and don't be afraid to try new bots.

The current featured bot is ending but next month will bring a new featured bot. This is a great way for you to slowly build a 3* roster. As a new player, focus on getting the chips to buy the 3*. Don't worry so much about the 4* version. You should be able to acquire the chips needed to buy the 3* and dupe it in a months time even as a new player.

Masteries are similar to bots. Find your playstyle and then tailor your masteries to suit.

And finally, do not be afraid to have a look at Youtube and watch some videos on fighting basics.

I think that covers most of it. I seriously hope you enjoy the game and feel free to ask any questions.

Well I finished Act 1 in less 24 hours already have 3 3* and maxed out in enregon but could you plz explain the arena as it seems to differ from MCOC arena

Energy is different from energon. Energon is the premium currency of the game you can buy with real money. Energy is used to run story, spotlight and daily missions. Energy recharges at 10 per hour. Energon is earned by opening arena crystals, mission completion for first run and for 100% exploration and occasionally is found in the raid store as a price of 3k raid chips for 20 Energon.

Currently Arena works like this. You score points, you fall somewhere in a % bracket and then you receive rewards dependent on what bracket you ended up in.

As for the specifics, arena works similar to MCoC. Use your lower bots to build to a 3x points multiplier and then start using your highest bots to score more points using the multiplier. Bots recharge based on their tier with 1* bots recharging the fastest but also being worth the least amount of points and 4* bots recharging the slowest but being worth the most points. Once you have a solid roster you can start to try and work on meeting the PI requirements to pull of an infinite streak but this will require some solid bots at the higher levels.

As a newer player, I would not focus too terribly on Arena as it is probably the most new player unfriendly feature currently in the game. Focus on everything else and then if you still want to play, run arena. A lot of the vets here are trying to get Kabam to reintroduce milestones back into arenas but so far we have not succeeded.

PS. Forgot to mention this earlier. Do not buy energon to purchase bot crystals. You will only end up disappointed. Save your energon for deals that come up from time to time that appeal to you and mastery cores. If a bot is added to the game that you really want, use your energon there but always expect to pull 2* from any bot crystal. 3* bots are a nice surprise but happen frequent enough but 4* are ultra rare.

I think Goon has done a really good write up, there's a lot of FAQ stuff in here. 100% nailed it.

Definitely good advice for any new player to follow.

I'd like to emphasise checking out some youtube vids of gameplay. They helped me immensely when I first started and dramatically improved my effectiveness in battle and reducing the amount of HP I lost per fight.

Don’t think I can write a whole novel for them but I’ll give it a shot!
So first you want to find a decent active alliance, one which specialises in AM. Another thing which helped me in my noon stages was the premium crystals bought with energon, not sure if this really is the right thing to do but it did get me good 3*s. Don’t bother with the arena yet, it’s very broken and you will not get a single 4* shard.

Raids are very important since they hold valuable items in the raid store such as t1 alpha essence and the daily raid store item which is always worth going for. Once you get higher in medals you’ll find stronger bases which give more raid chips so raids are definitely worth it.

The best way to get 4* shards is currently the hard spotlight mission, which may be a little bit too hard for you at the moment, it gives 1000 4* shards which amounts to half a crystal and also lots of important rank up materials like t1 alpha essence and t3 basic essence.

At the moment the best thing to help you grow is work on 3*s and eventually max out at least 3 until you are able to easily rank 2 4*s. 100% explore act1&2 for whole 3* crystals and the energon bought premium crystals sometimes do drop a 3* bot.

Hope this helps, and whoever flagged my little joke... why so serious?

Edit: Oh wow I did write a huge chunk!

Play raids 9 times a day. Use currency from raids on tier 3 knight crystal and energon. You can get 20 energon for 3k raid currency. You can buy it 10 times. The tier 3 knight crystal gives you chance at 3 or 4 star crystal.

Also prefer 411 bot data for forging and upgrade costing that will literally help you decide what to forge ,how to forge , whom to forge.
How much forging benefits you .

    Forge 2* gives 3* shards
    And 3* gives 4* shards

With time you will learn about them.
    Your welcome
