Convenient lagging

I've recently noticed since the last update that when the more difficult opponents are about to lose they become overwhelmingly hard to hot and the game beginner to lag...and the lag is incredibly convenient, in that my hits won't land, even if I'm standing right there...no evade, no block, just like swinging at a ghost, and the game skips and all the sudden they're in the middle of a long combo. If it were just a one or 2 time occurrence I'd cough it up to phone lag, but it's happening about 7 out of 10 fights.
