EXACTLY. I am in the same position as you. Even though I technically watched the 1986 animated film first before anything, the 2007 live action film is what really started me down the path I’m on.

And the 07 movie was good. Megatron was actually over powered (that is what a good opponent is) the decepticons were actually a threat, each bot showed how they could shine in their own way (Ironhide could blast his way through every thing, jazz had good combat skills, optimus showed mercy (except to bone crusher, starscream was a good fligher, barricade was a good informant etc). And it also gave us time to know the characters. Evey other bay movie after that wanted to keep introducing the same characters like they never have been seen before.

I don’t use the forums much but I used to come here and enjoy people expressin there opinions on other Transformers that they would like to see in the game. Now all I see are dead memes and clusterflop of redundant arguments not even showing the slightest of relevance
