UNDO and Force Shield vs Backfire

So Undo Damage doesn't undo damage from Backfire, yet Force Shield does.
What is Backfire considered? Either it's a debuff that can't be stopped or it's not.
Thoughts?

    Undo doesnt prevent direct damage i.e bleed, shock, backfire, dark burn etc. Its always been like that.

    That being said Ive seen backfire punch through Jackies Force Shield as well.

    as have I. I think it's something to do as to whether the damage from backfire activates the force shield or backfire is triggered when the shield is already active.
