How does rating go up?

I've been playing this game for a while, and i still don't know how my rating goes up. my rating is 4500 while my friend is at around 6500. our alliance is full and i hate when i'm so close to the bottom with almost the least rating. i just wanna know how it goes up.

    It's the sum of all your bot and mod ratings

    (So level or rank up more bots to change your Commander Rating)

    That said, your rating isn't the most important thing, even early on in the game. Later, it's completely meaningless.

    huh, i thought it had something to do with actually fighting or something

    Nope it just shows folks how many bots you have, it climbs up with the more you rank them up and forge.
    It's too bad it doesn't factor in mission wins, arena wins and win streak.
