Weird linked nodes in Story mode

In Act 3, Ch 3 Mission 5, there's a strange and seemingly out-of-place link to this OP from a Sharkicon far far away.
Even though I took out that Sharkticon in the first run, the link is still there when I come back. And it's the only place I can see this. Does it serve a purpose? It only gives this OP a slight boost to say the most.
