Leftover Chip use?

What happened to being able to purchase items with leftover bot chips? This was a thing with Galavatron and Galvatron only. It doesn't make any sense why something like that would only be a one time thing. Can we please bring that back because I have 27,000 Cyclonus chips just sitting around in my inventory.

    There'll be passive aggressive comments about duh, it'll turn to gold on a 1:1 basis, which IMO just sucks.
    I've tried suggesting a 2:1 for the newer chips or even a 100:1 trade for energon, but nothing
