Licesing Issues?

I came across many people in the forums stating that new Bots aren't being released monthly anymore because of licensing issues with Hasbro's trademarks.

If this is so, can you confirm it @Kabam Miike? Because it really sucks to think people at Kabam are being forced to "re-forge" Spotlight Missions instead of designing new characters.

Give them a break. Why are you pressing them to admit something which can only give negative reactions to the game's already faltering heath?

A company called Certain Affinity has picked up the license and is developing an MMO game.

Sorry if it sounds dumb. But by "picking up", do you mean two game companies cannot have the TF license at the same time?

Not necessarily. If it is a licensing issue I would guess Hasbro wants to dump Kabam and give exclusive mobile rights to Backflip Studios. Note this isn't based on anything other than Hasbro owning 70% of BF Studios and it is highly unlikely we'll ever know the real reason for this content drought.

Nope, that looks wrong on so many levels.
    1) If you just google "Certain Affinity hasbro", you'll end up on forums and news sites dating back to October 2017
    2) Now if you open the first forum thread, you'll end up with to this file, which is "LEYOU TECHNOLOGIES HOLDINGS LIMITED" 2017 Annual report, where you can read
Transformers Online, an online game being developed by Certain Affinity with the license granted by Hasbro

Now look at the next line
Civilization Online, an MMO with an exclusive license granted by Take Two, being developed by Guangzhou
    Radiance

See what's missing in the first quote? That's right - the word exclusive.

Hasbro are not dumb enough to grant exclusivity to any company. There are other transformers games Earth Wars or Transformers Rescue bots for instance (two different companies made those). Are they closing down?

The whole issue is between Kabam and Hasbro, probably about royalties Hasbro are taking for the license.

Not sure what’s ‘wrong on so many levels’.

I never said anything about an exclusive license. Kabam’s theorized ‘loss of license’ or whatever may have happened is a separate issue.

Anyways, here's an article from 5 months ago where the game is mentioned as their next project.

Could be interesting, but from my low reading comprehension and simple online searching, I wonder if this game will be more vaporware than new content in TFTF...
