Increase in raid time limit: an excuse for not fixing raids?

What do you think, guys? Is the 5 mins extension in raids just a "bubble" implemented by Kabam in order to counterbalance the fact that freezes still occur and you have to restart the app?
From what I've experienced, this must be the most possible scenario. An honest reply from an admin would also be welcomed.

    This was the exact reason players asked for more time on the raid clock... Long load times and crashes. It's not a mystery, or conspiracy.

    It was also at least partially the reason Kabam implemented it, and it was announced as such.

    It's not an excuse to not fix raids.
