What if I say i nvr pulled MV-1 or Grim in whole year of playing. And put all my resources all efforts of a year into Ironhide. Will that be enough to piss you??
I love all the people saying "it's the crit mastery" or "of course bonecrusher inflicts bleeds, it's in his description."
So here's how to make it simple for you: before the 6.0 update ironhides melee critical hit rate was ZERO. Meaning he would NEVER crit. Let's pretend the mastery is actually a 3000% rate increase... What's 0×3000? Still 0!
Maybe having a melee rating of 0 was a bug they fixed. If so, THEY SHOULD HAVE SAID SOMETHING. Maybe it's a bug they caused with the update. The only thing left to do is wait and hope we get a reply.
I'm not certain, but there is a chance that although we see a percentage boost when applying masteries rtc, it may be a flat value. Depends whether they adopted the value system from MCOC or the %. They made a huge deal about assigning values rather than % on MCOC to ensure the game could continue to evolve, so that % increase we see could actually be +115 crit chance, for example. So it could take a 0 value and make it 115, rather than saying 0 x 1.5%.

This.
If the description says "increases Crit rate by 10%" it is simply adding 10% to the existing value.
Instead of the actual mathematical percentage gain (0%+(0x10%)), they are just increasing the value by a flat 10%.
So if Ironhide had a 0% chance to crit, and the mastery adds 10%, he then has a 10% chance to crit (0% + 10% = 10%)
Likewise, if a bot already had a 10% Crit rate, it would then become 20% (10%+10%) instead of 11% (10%+(10%×10%))
This is the only way it makes sense for the mastery to affect IH Crit rate.
Kabam should've told people if they were making an adjustment like this, I totally agree with that, but the only reason you're all calling it a nerf is because you don't want to have to accommodate for bonecrusher's ability. If it's improved IH's performance against every bot except Bonecrusher then it's not a nerf, it's a buff.

But they put Bonecrusher in knowing full well people will struggle with him without the right tools. Ironhide was one of those tools. Bonecrusher is unique in the way he works, so whether a bot gets a buff against other bots is kind of irrelevant because it made no difference before and isn't fundamentally affecting the way people plan and play. If it changes against Bonecrusher then it is a huge deal because it is fundamental. As it happens, I think it's a really easy work around but it sucks really bad, because if you have to remove the mastery for the sake of being able to fight Bonecrusher with Ironhide, then it affects all facets of the game from story mode to arena and every other bot, just so you can continue to take down BC with Ironhide in AM. There isn't even that many BC in AM either, so to me it kind of is a big deal.
That said, Ironhide still works really well against BC.
I see no reason why a mastery should not affect IH just because he's been the "alternative" answer to BC because of his non existent Crit rate on basic attacks.
Sack up, people. Whining like this is how Rhinox shields became nigh useless and never trigger shock on melee attacks. Because of the complaining, the devs specifically made it so that masteries did not affect the trigger rate on the Sig.
Yet nobody complained about this huge nerf to Rhinox because they want the game to be unchallenging, instead of having to actually come up with a strategy on how to battle these tricky bots.

Not to be mean, but if you're punching anybody with IH and relying on that for damage....
It's no different than running into bone in arena, punch him just enough to make him behave (ideally while he's blocking) and nuke him with a ranged heavy. Mostly you're just forced to run around and shoot. Isn't there just two cacti in AM and both on the left? How about one person bring a brawler and smack both of them around.
I personally find the change to be insignificant, my only beef is why isn't it published in the update details. A mastery that effects entire bots not working being fixed is pretty serious to be labeled as "misc bug fixes."
And as my previous post makes obvious, it wouldn't hurt for kabam to CLEARLY explain how the masteries work somewhere on their website.
I don't understand the fascination with only dispensing information in the app. POST IT ON THE WEBSITE and put a button in game labeled "for more information click here to visit our site." It keeps the app coding simpler considering how big a deal adding the crystal rates was. (also something that would have been fine on the website...)
Rhinox needed that nerf, he was broken with that dumbass shield as it was applying shocks when it really should not have due to relics and other things being taken into consideration. People had every reason to complain about rhinox because every encounter was just straight up stupid and there weren't any meaningful counter to his shield.
As for the mastery change, Kabam did fail to announce the big fix, but at the same time people can simply respec their masteries to different points and still use ih or whatever bot they feel they used before.
