What happens to old spotlight mission chips?

So I have 88k Megatronous chips that I cant do anything with.
What happens to these chips now that we’re in a spotlight mission with Scorponok? Do they roll over as Scorponok chips? Or Gold?
What happens with my megatronous chips?
(Note I can’t use them because everything requires over 100,000 chips for my three star and four-star Megatronous)

Is there a way to give the player the control on when to convert old chips to gold? This would come in handy when trying to build our new characters.
Then why do I still have 17k megatronus chips and 1250 HOUND CHIPS?
The MT chips are not converted yet. Not sure about Hound chips
But I thought these chips were erased???
