@ktomov Pocophone F1 plays F2F really well, but overheating after around 35-40 minutes of AM or Arenas DESPITE the liquid cooling ISN'T A GOOD SIGN.

Will try out on Asus RoG phone and Razer 2 this weekend, fingers crossed.

Thanks for the heads up dude! I was going to get that bargain Poco either way, no matter if it was just for the game. Glad it works at least, with that list of devices the game is having troubles it. 30 minutes of playing and some work time works for me.

Cheers. You got a beer on my table ;)

    Ok folks.
If looking to buy a Nokia for F2F, your best bet is the GLOBAL version of the Nokia 6.1 Plus, powered by the Helio P60 with 6GB RAM.
Completely SUPERIOR to the androidONE, Qualcomm SD636 variant.
No lag, crashes or significant overheating.

And just forget any x86 architecture devices.

    Fantastic F2F experience:

    NOKIA 5.1 Plus (X5)
    MediaTek MT6771 Helio P60
    4GB RAM, AndroidONE 8.0

No lag, no stutter, no freezes, no crashes. No overheating.
Plus good GRAPHICAL settings, a wonderful trade off.
Only minus is cruddy battery life due to just 3000mAh.

    New DEPRECATED SoC:

    For Qualcomm SD410, 425 or 430 owners,
A reboot and use of a Game Booster HELPS F2F efficiency by 20%.
Especially on devices with less than 3gb RAM.

Just got my Poco F1 and the game is running buttery smooth! Never thought the game could run that fast. Still have hard time to get used to the aspect ratio (18.7:9 compared to 16:9 on my old phone). But well so far so good. No force closes, heating or lags.

    Told you!
Only the battery life isn't stellar.
Have you tried a mix of AM and raid grinding?
    Heats up slightly after 45m.
But keeping other processes pegged keeps this to a minimum.
    👍

Well I'm losing around 10% for about 50 minutes of playing, which is what I've expected or even better of what I've expected. My old device Redmi Note 3 Pro has the same battery size - 4000ma, but barely managed 30 mins with 10 percent. So I must say I'm impressed with the SD845.

Done everything, besides AM, cause I haven't even joined. Knew that the phone was coming today and had tons of things to do to set it up like I like it.

Haven't felt any heat as of now (played 2 hours or so), so for me the device is clear winner. Just hope Kabam wont nerf it on some of the next updates lol
  • Game runs cashless on Low Resolution mobiles with not so high DPI.
I guess graphics settings are mostly based on Resolution of phone.
    I use this:
    8h2cvj8ztxjb.png
    j4lj3jgarh3l.png

Game crashes are very rare,,, but load screen is longer, 20~35 long delay in AM load screen to show up (between "Fight" click and load screen).
    Low graphics. Lag rarely.

Far I concern, there must at least 575 MB be free for game,.. Or recommended 900MB ,more of free RAM may not help further. Aside from this, additional 100 MB must be also free for system reserves.

Buddy, low end phones are THE way to go, for the time being.
I've stated multiple times how the sub $100 devices with a 2 GB RAM config handles F2F REALLY WELL, albeit with longer loading times.

So players, if experiencing trauma on iPhones, SD626 & SD835 devices,
$100 on a cheap MediaTek 67xx or SD4xx phone makes those nightmares and burnt hands go away.

    Heck, cheaper than some T3Cs.

You can add Redmi Note 3 with SD650 to the list as long as it's running 7.*. Custom roms running 8.* leads to FC almost on every fight, but on MIUI rom it's running. Hot, but running.

MULTIPLE threads on crashing, freezing, glitches, OVERHEATING, etc.
And lots of players complaining they have to BUY online goodies to counter it.
    Like this:xvc3flik89dj.png

When you could do THIS, and solve 99% of your problems, plus get a FREE PHONE FOR TRAVELS/CHEATING ON YOUR SPOUSE (DUAL SIM)
    0s8rf5yxinaf.png

    Can't recommend this enough.
    Fairly few problems, with
    - NO OVERHEATING
    - 8% BATTERY=1 HR PLAY
    - 3 CRASHES SINCE MAY

Only problems being longer loading time and average graphics.

  • BlackRazakBlackRazak Posts: 2,812
    OK.
Tested the SD845 Asus ROG Phone in 128GB guise (there's a 512GB version, too) and TBF,
    It's absolutely fantastic.
Graphics FINALLY match the iOS release, and the Adreno 630 handles textures, lighting, movement, etc. SUPERBLY.
The 2160*1080 AMOLED is perfect for the game, as qHD is a bit overkill for what's on offer.
8GB RAM means memory leaks are a non factor.
NO LAG, NO CRASHES, NO FLICKER, NO OVERHEATING, NO FREEZING AND SHORT LOADING TIMES.
Best phone for F2F if you have $1K lying around.

Alternative with the same SoC is the Pocophone F1, which costs less than $300. BUT the difference, despite the innards, is massive graphically and playability wise.
That extra $700 begins to show.
Not critical though, and a worthy effort.

On entry phones like the MTK6737 Motorola Moto C Plus, which comes with just 2-16GB config, invest in an A1 or UHS1 class mSD card (~80mb/s speed) to store game files or any apps.
Heck this is good practice full stop.

Here are cards (formatted as INTERNAL) tested with F2F that get a 👍:
    1. Sandisk Ultra A1 (100mb/s)
    2. Mixza Shark UHS1 (80+ mb/s)
    3. Patriot EP A1 (80+ mb/s)

    RUBBISH:
    1. Kingston UHS1 micro SD "80mb/s"
    - Truly pathetic, I've had beef with Kingston since the RAZR V3ii in 2007, with HORRIBLE reliability and constant CORRUPTION.
    - RAZER Phone 1 (SD835, 8GB RAM) and Moto Z Force BOTH warn that "Your card is slow" when formatting as INTERNAL memory. Despite card rating of UHS1 80mb/s. So bollox.

    UPDATE:

Devices running THESE chips run F2F perfectly FINE, as long as 2-16 GB config is observed.

    - Spreadtrum SC9860, SC9860GV
    - Amlogic S912
    - Rockchip RK3399

Certain Android TV boxes STILL F2F CAPABLE.
As long as 2-16GB, android<7.1.1 and 64bit ARM are observed and device architecture reads as TABLET.
    e.g. various S912, S905+ OEM with Android 5.1-7.0

    Hisilicone Kirin curse strikes AGAIN.
Latest Huawei Mate 20 Pro and 20 Lite don't do so well.
Amusingly the Kirin 710 in the 20 Lite does better than the Kirin 980 powered 20 Pro.
980 tends to overheat after immediately switching to raids from AM.
And also when crystals are spinning.
    Just plain weird.

    Good habit:
Rebooting device DAILY, and shutting down background processes/apps.

This applies for ALL ANDROID DEVICES.

If looking for an off-brand/OEM ON THE CHEAP, THAT HANDLES F2F WELL:

    1. Mediatek MT6738 (Mali T860MP2 GPU, >2GB RAM)
    2. Mediatek MT6753 (Mali T720, >2GB RAM)
    3. Mediatek MT6752 (Mali T760, >2GB RAM)
    4. Mediatek P30 (Mali G71, >3GB RAM)
    6. Mediatek P70 (Mali G72, >3GB RAM)

    Currently, AVOID:
    IMG GE8100 GPU
    IMG PowerVR GE-class GPU

    In OTHER WORDS:
    MTK + Mali ✓
    MTK + IMG GPU ❌
    SD + Adreno YMMV

    UPDATE:

On devices with <3GB RAM (MTK, RC, AW, S912, SD425, SD630, etc) playing F2F WHILE Bluetooth is streaming/enabled CAUSES further load, alleviating the LAG, FREEZE and FC pandemic.

So keep unnecessary processes in check with help from a reputable game/RAM booster.

    Just a brief update:

Archos Diamond Omega (SD835, 8GB RAM, A7.1.2) handles F2F the best I've seen of the current Qualcomm SD835 range, despite the Nubia skin.

Optimised really well, so if in France...

    Also:

Good (as of Oct 30 Update):
    - SD835
    - SD845
    - SD630
    - SD425 (barely)
    - MT6737M, 6738, 6752, 6753
    - Helio P15, P23, P30, P70

No critical overheating, crashes or major errors.

    Holiday Special:

ONE OF THE BEST PHONES, PERIOD, FOR F2F.
Perfect graphics/playability/reliability balance; comparable to iPhone 7+ on iOS 11; BUT
WITHOUT OVERHEATING, LAG or CRASH ISSUES.
I've personally returned to this device several times, despite NEWER, more cutting edge SOCs out there.
    Can't beat the sweet balance.
    Priced like a T3C.

  • Samsung Galaxy J7 2016
    Android 7.1.1
    2GB ram
    16 GB storage

Game runs like scrap. Constant freezing mid fight.

Its also important to note that when i switch the location of the game from my SD card to my internal storage there is less lag and freezing but there's still lag nonetheless

    Hope this helps

It's the SD617 to blame here.
I REALLY don't get why Qualcomm SD6xx series or older SD8xx fail so bad at F2F!

When I have time, I'm going to see if I can get Android on a Lumia 1520 (AT&T) with Snapdragon 820. I know it's supposedly terrible.

Will know in about a week or so if the Moto G6 (Snapdragon 450, 4GB RAM), a "mid-range". I wasn't going to waste $$$ on an iPhone or some high end Android phone.

Currently playing on a tablet with Mediatek MT8163, 1.5GB RAM, it does take forever to load (patience); it crap out here and there. :D

Buddy, SD425 or 450 are ok at best.
Like you said, that whack MediaTek just plain works, ignoring the loading times.

If planning on long term playability of F2F, I'd recommend
    1. MediaTek P15/20/23 series (<2.0GHz quad)
    2. RAM 3/4GB, internal 16GB+
    3. Mali T760/860/880
    4. Screen <1080p
    5. Battery 3000mAh +
    6. Android 7.0/8.0 (not PIE)

As stated, all of the above criteria is achievable on a $85-120 budget

    Anyone with a SD636* or SD632 handphone?
    What are your findings?
