A Missing Leader, An Ally Caught in the Crosshairs

Commanders!

Optimus Prime is missing. The Autobot leader has vanished, and the only Bot that can track him down is the one that all of the Autobots suspect of a brutal act of malfeasance. All suspicions point at Prowl, who is hot on the case.

It’s up to you to help Prowl prove his innocence in this month’s Spotlight Mission: Prime Suspect!

35 Years of the Transformers Brand!

We’re celebrating 35 Years of Transformers with a Generations celebration in September! Keep your eye out for an announcement in game about a special, limited time event coming your way!

@Kabam Miike the featured bots you've mentioned Mirage twice (not Prowl I'm guessing? and the link the Mirage re balance didn't hyperlink
  • That means will there be a new bot or the same like August, no new bot and only the spotlight mission?

While it is true that the war fog event was incredible. I don't know how much a special event covers the absence of almost 1 year without a new bot. In short, all those events that help keep the boat afloat another month are welcome, waiting to finally have a new bot to play. May you rest from your heavy day Kabam team

No new bots. They started off with reforged spotlights n when everyone was fed-up with it they start off rebalancing existing bots . Just to keep things interesting they might put out some a mini event every month that’s all kabam can do for now

Stop being racist, it's more than skin colour. They've got completely different skillsets from Starscream and OG Prime.

I'll repeat until you give up: TC and NP are new bots.

Ok I see that you are in confusion with this.

We are being clear. A new bot you start with your model and animations from 0 (skills can we really consider them within a new bot? Unless it is a new one in specified, because the code for shock, exanguination, burn, fire, evasion, etc. You already have it, just implement it.)

Let's see if with this example they are clearer.

Suppose it's your birthday and someone (dad, mom, brother, friend, uncle, etc.) gives you a watch and says "Look, I bought you this watch (extendable in green, common alarm tone, stopwatch) it cost me 50 dollars ". Well no good, you release NEW watch.

The next year on your next birthday that same person tells you. "I took your watch and I changed the extendable for a black because the green was very ugly, and I also changed the alarm tone but neglect the glass still has the small scratch that you had done and everything else is also the same" changing that only cost me 10 dollars.

DO YOU THEN HAVE A NEW WATCH JUST BECAUSE THE COLOR OF THE EXTENSIBLE AND THE ALARM TONE CHANGED?

I hope this makes it clearer that TC and NP "ARE NOT NEW BOTS".

If they had changed the animations of the specials (example that Nemesis in special 1 fired their weapons instead of hitting with the ax, making the pattern to dodge the special different, not the same as Optimus Generation) and modeled ( Nemesis example with its machine guns as there are some designs out there) we could say that they are new bots.

New names, new abilities, new base stats, new factions, and new bot class (TC). Sounds new enough for me.

Using your watch example, if I changed the band, clock face, clock hands, changed from alarm to timer, and went from analog to digital, I would consider it a new watch.

They are new but they're reskins at the same time...in transformers toys that would be called a retool

That's your opinion @HZERO but to me, your example is wrong and inconsistent in these ways:
    * if I need a new watch for diving while my current watch doesn't have water resistance, I'll be glad to have one even it's the same color, same model. I need the new feature that's all. It's like TC, he fights like no Starscream.
    * the fact this watch is made and branded, is to prove the watch maker has made something new no matter what people may think.
    * I'll be glad for such gift on my birthday. Be it a water resistant watch, or a 5* TC or NP because maybe I have lower expectations in life or am easily pleased.

You just said it yourself by changing the clock MODEL from analog to digital. So I would consider it something new.

If you change the model of the mentioned bots a little, if you change their specials (which implies different mechanics to avoid it), their mobility (that Nemesis moves a little faster or slower than Optimus Generation) added to the changes of ability, color and class . We would be talking about a completely new bot (just a "little" different in the model, as I mentioned submachine guns in Nemesis).

The fact that theres a new tie in to a milestone in the brand is really promising for the future if you ask me :) Loving where we are heading :)
  • KillMasterCKillMasterC Posts: 2,781
Well that's related to the percentage of change, the tipping point if you like, beyond which we think a bot can be called new. That may vary.

So by your interpretation of my comment, that makes TC a new bot. Went from Tactician (Starscream) to Brawler.

There are many opinions (everyone thinks differently) and they are respected.

What you put is somewhat lacking in spesification if you buy a new watch with those characteristics or only update the one you have (which does not make it new).

I agree with Bntyhntr3232, that they are reskins, updates, but nothing more.

Anyway we deviate a little from the subject of this post and I apologize for that (I should have opened the discussion in a different post) in short I will leave the matter so nothing will change what there is.

Reskins are grateful I don't say no. But waiting month after month for a new character (Crossair, Predaking, Lockdwon, Rodinus Prime ...) gave the game an extra thrill

Perhaps the discussion on what defines a reskin should go in its own thread.

I am happy to see a new story in the spotlight, as well as the upcoming 35 year anniversary event. Yes, it's not a brand new bot, but at least Kabam has been slowly gaining momentum, for which I'm grateful!
