Overheating - game slow down
Carver
Posts: 82
I use an iPhone 6S. After 15 minutes of playing my phone is hot. After 30 minutes, I can feel the heat on my fingers while playing. After 40 minutes game is suddenly trippin and gets seriously laggy and I can guarantee it can pop corn

I do agree with this post though @Kabam Spice there has been multiple threads some of which have gathered more than enough information but still nothing has been done about this obvious issue.
From what I can see in the forums, this looks like it may be an issue that has cropped up in a recent update. So, for those of you experiencing this, it really is helpful for our QA team to have additional information. If you've been experiencing this issue since you started playing, even through the updates, that's also really helpful to know! If not, and the issue was there - gone - and has resurfaced, then it is still something that may not be affecting all the same devices as it was previously.
Thanks so much to those that are able to assist with additional information. I've moved this thread over to the Bug Reporting section of the forums. You can post the details here, or you can also provide them to our Support Team directly if you prefer. Thanks again! Your bug reports here and game feedback in the General section of the forums is super appreciated!
There is a lot to process here. You have not seen anything on these forums in the last month about overheating/crashing? Thats odd, because I was able to find these threads and posts that are around a month old:

All of those threads and comments in those threads specifically complaining about overheating/crashing (since they tend to go hand in hand) have been created in about the last month or so. And that list does not even include this thread or the people posting in its comments. If you type "crashing" into the search bar, 11 pages of posts come up, the first 5 pages of which were all created within the last month.
You then suggest that this issue must have "cropped up" in a recent update. Again, this issue has been PERSISTENT and CONSTANT since DAY 1 for many players. This is not some new issue at all. I first posted about my overheating issues on April 13th in this thread: https://forums.transformersforgedtofight.com/discussion/374/nvidia-shield-k1-constantly-crashing-other-issues#latest
That original thread received 1 initial response from a Kabam Moderator, then a couple of dozen other responses from players experiencing similar issues, and then you guys made the thread un-bumpable and fell off the face of the earth.
So to summarize - for many players, the issue has never been gone. The issue has been there since day 1 of release, and I have never seen any improvements on my end. I have played this game on both my NVIDIA Shield and an Apple Air tablet, as well as my Samsung Galaxy S7, and every single one of those devices has the exact same issue with overheating and crashing. And if I and several other players who take the time and come to these forums and post our issues are having these problems, I can only assume hundreds if not thousands of other players have experienced these same issues as well - which in turn can dramatically affect if people want to play this game or not. It is in your best interest to fix these issues ASAP as new players will be turned off from playing a game where when they crash before an important fight and when they come back into the game, they are greeted with their bot being at 1/2 HP through no fault of their own.
Again, I super appreciate your responses - however, I would like to actually see something done to improve my game performance that I have been complaining about for nearly 4 months now.
crashes in raids and arena as well. nothing is safe from the iOS crash nightmare.
Had been experiencing heat up whenever I pause the game or leave the game at the fight end screen for too long, say 5-10minutes.
It seems like the game continues to utilise high CPU cycle in these supposedly idle situations.
And can you kindly ask your testers not to clean load the new version of the game while testing and do an upgrade instead? It had been twice I need to reinstall the game because it acted weird after an update.
FACT:
The heat up starts around 5-7 minutes into the game.
The heat starts in the area right around and below the double cameras and spreads to that side of the edges of the phone.
OBSERVATIONS:
The heat up slows down if I let the game run on Auto. Meaning, there is no tapping of the screen at all. While the heat build up slows down, it still heats up to a point that it is noticeably very hot. I may (or may not) try to get an accurate heat temperature for data. I kind of do not want to risk my phone to be that hot as it may damage hardware.
The heat up also slows down if I turn off sound and turn down the screen brightness.
But at that point, then what is the point of playing the game if it is on Auto, no sound and low brightness???
The heat up consistently happens EVERY TIME I play the game on my iPhone 7S. The heat up occurs on my iPhone 6S but not as rapidly as the 7S. The game heat up builds very slowly on my iPad mini 2.
ATTEMPTED HEAT COUNTERS:
This part may sound funny but it's not really funny if it heats up this much.
I've tried putting the game (on AUTO mode but with sound and 50% brightness) on top of 2 sealed slabs of tuna burger patties (fully frozen)-- each patty under 50% of the phone. After about 20 minutes of playing the game on FULL AUTO, the surface of the tuna burger patty that was on the side of the camera had completely defrosted and was no longer frozen hard. It wasn't cooked, but it was mushy as all of the high heat had transferred into the patty.
The phone was chilled and not hot, but all of the heat had transferred into the patties. That's how hot the game gets.
Still heating up.
Not to mention the HUGE battery drain.
This is defiantly case but it's all relative to only this game I know it's intensive but this has been happening since December depending on update how bad but it's been since they upped the graphics on global release
Yes this is true as well as it is the only game on my phone that is experiencing this. All of my other games (which also uses 3D rendering) does not have a heat build up.
so ive been considering returning to try out the game with all these huge updates but disappointed to see nothing has been done to address this perf issue.
Why bother asking for specific device info for ios players when its pretty obvious when you could just load up the game, open it on any supported apple phones/tablets, crack an egg over the device and leave it running for an hour or so... yay scrambled eggs
Or similar not that any one here gas. This problem is getting a little too big to keep sweeping under the carpet don't ya think fellas?
